desire to improve a certain portion of County Road 171, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 4413(32c) V.A.T.S. and Section
272.001, et. seq., Local Government Code, V.A.T.S., the County and the
City desire to enter into an inter -local agreement to improve the
above - described road, Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to sign on
behalf of the City an inter -local agreement to improve County Road
171, said agreement being attached hereto as Exhibit "A ".

4. TERMS
COUNTY - CITY INTERLOCRL AGREEMENT
1. PARTIES. The parties to this agreement are Williamson County, a body
corporate and politic under the Constitution and laws of the State of
Texas, by and through its duly authorized representative, the
Honorable County Judge Oon Wilson (hereafter referred to as the
"County "), and the City of Round Rock, a duly incorporated Texas city,
by and through its duly authorized representative, the Honorable
Mayor thereof (hereafter referred to as the "City ").
2. PURPOSE. The purpose of this agreement is for the County to assist in
the improving of County Road 171, certain City rights -of way, and
property hereinafter described. This agreement is executed under
the provisions of the Interlacal Cooperation Act fflrticle 4413(32c),
Tell. Rev. Ciu. Stat. Ann.) and Texas Local Government Code Section
272.001, et seq.
3. PROPERTY. The Property of the City which the County seeks to assist
in improving is a portion of County Road 171 extending from the
western City limits on County Road 171 east approximately .4 of one
mile.
(11) City agrees to pay for the material used in the resurfacing of
County Road 171 (McNeil Road) from the terminus of said City's
recent improvement an County Road 171 near Oakridge Oriue to a
paint approximately .4 of a mile west, .1 of a mile west of the
intersection of County Road 171 with Messick Loop West.
(R) County agrees to rebuild the subsurface of County Road 171 as
needed and in general prepare a section for the eventual paving
of a 24 ft two lane roadway. County will use its own equipment
and labor to accomplish the road preparation. County will also
pay for the labor cost of resurfacing said road.
(C) County agrees to ensure adequate drainage within the existing
right -of -way.

ITEM: 9B. Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter
into a county /city interlocal agreement for improvements
on McNeil Road.
STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: Jim Nuse
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: The City of Round .10c)c and Williamson County will
jointly improve the section of roadway along 27cNei1 Road from C.R. 172 to the
City limits. The improvement will be a twenty -dour (24') foot open section with
improved shoulders and a two (2 ") inch asphalt overlay. The improvenehts are
planned to commence within a month. Attached is a copy of the agreement.
