WHEREAS, West Williamson County MR Association has submitted a
contract to provide said services, and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to enter into said contract, Now
Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on
behalf of the City a contract with West Williamson County MR
Association for janitorial service for the recreational facilities,
said contract being attached hereto and incorporated herein for all
purposes.

IV. CONTRACT AMOUNT:
The total amount of this contract shall not exceed
$ 7,680.00
V. PAYMENT FOR SERVICES:
The Receiving Party shall pay for services received
upon receipt of a proper invoice or voucher prepared
by the Assigned Sheltered Workshop or TIBH within
30 days from receipt of same.
Payment for services performed shall be billed monthly
at a rate of $ 640.00
VI. TERM OF CONTRACT:
This contract is to begin JUNE 1 ,1990 , and
shall be reviewed annually or upon request of any of
the contracting parties. Either party may cancel this
contract by giving the other party (30) days written
notice.
THE UNDERSIGNED PARTIES do hereby certify that (1) the
services specified above are necessary and essential
for activities that are properly within the statutory
functions and programs of the affected parties of
Local and State Government, and (2) the services,
supplies, or Contract are not required by Section 21
of Article XVI of the Constitution of Texas to be
supplied under Contract given to the lowest responsible
bidder.

SERVICE SCHEDULE SPECIFICATIONS
The intent of these Specifications is to provide a thorough interior
cleaning of City Recreation Centers on a weekly basis.

A. ROOMS
- Dust all horizontal surfaces with dust cloth.
- Dust all high surfaces, including pictures, walls, book
shelves, door frames, chairs, tables and other furnishings.
- Dust all low surfaces, including baseboards and chair
- Spot clean all walls, light switches and doors.
- Vacuum all obvious dirt and dust. Remove all visible
rungs.

- Spot clean carpets. A carpet steam cleaning vacuum should
be available for this purpose.
- Vacuum all carpets.
- Using a portable vacuum, vacuum corners, edges and
upholstered furniture.
- Sweep, damp mop, dust mop with a chemically treated dust mop
or spray buff all hard surface floors. Scrub as necessary
to prevent any buildup of soil and grime.
- Mop all stains and spills, especially drink and coffee
spills.
- Clean tops and fronts of all appliances.
- Clean tops and fronts of counters.
- Clean both sides of all glass doors.
- Damp wipe all telephones, including ear and mouth piece.
- Dust and clean all ceiling diffusers.
- Dust and clean all return vents.
- Dust all venetian blinds.
- Dust smooth surface walls, doors, etc. and damp wipe as
necessary. Smooth surface walls include highly visible
and accessible glass surfaces.
- Leave notice advising of any irregularities noted during
servicing (i.e. defective plumbing fixtures, entry doors
left unlocked, etc.)
- Turn off all lights except those required to be left on.
- Lock all entrance doors.
B. RESTROOMS
W _ Damp mop and scrub as necessary all surfaces (walls and
floors) with disinfecting cleaner.
W - Scrub all cumudes, urinals and basins.
W - Remove all rings and calcium deposits.
W - Damp wipe mirrors.
W - Polish chrome.
W - Damp wipe counters with disinfectant.
M - Dust and clean all air vents.
W - Remove all trash.
C. STAIRWAYS AND LANDINGS
W - Sweep stairs and landings, remove all litter and damp mop
as necessary.

Dust all handrails.
Quarterly - Strip floors, apply sealer, wax floors.
Quarterly - Chemically treat and buff hard wood floors.
6 Months - Wash all windows; inside and out.
MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES
All equipment and supplies necessary for the cleaning process are to
be provided by the cleaning company and should be good quality
cammercial grade.

STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS:
Presently the recreation centers are not
cleaned on a regular basis. In order to
prevent deterioration of the facilities,
staff recommends that the City enter into
an agreement with West Williamson County
MR Association for janitorial services.
This agency is certified by the Texas
Industries for the Blind and Handicapped.
