R-90-1479 - 7/12/1990WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock desires to have independent testing provided for all electrical licenses, and WHEREAS, Electrical Technology and Consulting Service has submitted a contract to provide said testing, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to enter into said contract, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City a contract with Electrical Technology and consulting Service to provide testing for the issuance of all electrical licenses, said contract being attached hereto and incorporated herein for all purposes. ATTEST: E RS07120E LAND, City Secretary RESOLUTION NO. )41 7/41d/.._ MIKE ROBINSON, Mayor City of Round Rock, Texas A contract between: The City of Round Rock, Texas and Electrical Technology & Consulting Service (ETCS) 13706 Research, Suite 305 Austin, Texas 78750 512- 331 -8919 For the purpose of supplying all labor, materials and information necessary to develop, prepare, administer, and evaluate any and all electrical examinations used by the City of Round Rock, Texas for the purpose of qualifying individuals for licensing as electricians within the corporate city limits of that city, the following is submitted for acceptance: For a sum of not to exceed $35.00 per applicant approved by the City of Round Rock for any electrical examination, Electrical Technology & Consulting Services (ETCS) shall provide the following services: 1. Provide an examination appropriate for the classification of license for which the applicant has applied 2. Provide the location and all necessary furnishing to insure a proper examination atmosphere 3. To proctor such examination 4. To provide a report to the City of Round Rock as to the finding of any such examination 5. To maintain a record of all applicants successfully completing any' examination 6. To maintain a file of the actual examinations for a period of not more than one (1) year from the date the examination was given The City of Round Rock, Texas, shall be responsible for the following: 1. Prequalifying individuals for all electrical examinations 2. Determining the acceptable score for successful completion of any examination 3. Issuance of all electrical license This contract shall remain valid from the date of acceptance until December 31, 1991. Main St. Round Rock, Texas Dear Ms. Land, I have recently submitted a service contract to the City of Round Rock for the purpose of examining individuals seeking electrical license in the City. If this contract is accepted by the City of Round Rock, I respectfully request that I immediately be allowed to resign my position on the City's Electrical Examining and Supervising Board. Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract for licensing of electrical license testing. STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: JIM NUSE STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that council enter into this agreement with the enclosed Electrical Technology & Consulting Service. Mr. Owens has also submitted his resignation from the Electrical Board contingent upon the acceptance of the agreement. ECONOMIC IMPACT: Staff believes that considerable cost savings will be realized by allowing ETCS to handle testing. F h
