WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock collects a seven (7) percent tax
on hotel rooms, and
WHEREAS, the tax money is to be spent for promoting tourism and
the arts, and
WHEREAS, a budget for hotel tax funds has been proposed which
provides for expenditure of the funds in a manner in compliance with
Section 1.1809 of the City Code (1990 Edition), Now Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That the attached Hotel Tax Budget is hereby approved and the
disbursements shown thereon are hereby authorized.

BRIEF NARRATIVE DESCRIBING YOUR EVENT: This event is a concert of the Round Rock
Community Choir's 120 singers performing the Bach Magnificat accompanied by
24 piece orchestra and carols composed by John Rutter, Robert H. Young (who
will attend the concert Saturday evening), and Gene Vasconi (who will also
attend the performances). This concert is always offered free of charge to
our community as a gift of the Arts.

team will play at least 3 games over the two day tournament. RRISD will provide
the facilities, officials and awards. We have corporate sponsorship from
Whataburger.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
A domplete hotel /motel budget will be forthcoming.as soon as all
requests and Chamber information has been received.
Since we have received some requests that are needed as soon as
possible, staff recommends Council approve those requests as
follows:
Round Rock Community Choir - $3,000
Sam Bass Theatre - 3,000
Sunrise Kiwanis - 6,000
Staff projects hotel /motel revenues to be approximately $140,000
for the Fiscal Year 1990 -1991.
Staff recommends approval of the above mentioned requests.
