J V I a 4L MIKE ROBINSON, Mayor City of Round Rock, Texas Tischler /Koeurek Environmental Engineers Mr. James R. Nuse, P.E. Director, Public Works City of Round Rock 221 East Main Round Rock, Texas 78664 Re: Costs Estimates for Environmental Services 1991 Dear Jim: February 7, 1991 I am attaching the cost estimate you requested for environmental services for the 1991 period. Instead of just giving you the total estimate, I have broken out the costs for individual tasks (a total of 10 tasks) to give you a better picture of where the money would be spent. There are nine specific tasks, eight of which are for the pretreatment program which is still undergoing development; the ninth covers the toxicity reduction evaluation. There is a tenth task which I call "miscellaneous" which would be for unexpected projects that arise from time to time (like the copper study and Brushy Creek sampling in 1990). Of the eight pretreatment tasks, I consider four items as key items where our service will be most useful and have marked these on the attachment. The other four are by no means unimportant, but if it is necessary to scale -back costs, these four items are where you should look. Please let me know if you have any questions. DATE: MARCH 14, 1991 SUBJECT: City Council Meeting, March 14, 1991 ITEM: 13E. Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract with Tischler/Kocurek for environmental engineering services. STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: Jim Nuse STAFF RECOMMENDATION: In order to continue with required environmental programs such as Toxicity Reduction Evaluations, the pre- treatment program, development of local limits and related reporting to EPA, I request that the City continue environmental engineering services with Tischler/Kocurek of Round Rock. I propose that we engage them for items: #1 for $2,800; #5 for $2,800; THE for $4,000; and combine items 2,4,6 and 8 for $4,200. The total authorization will be $13,800. Tischler/Kocurek's abilities in these matters augments our staff. I believe that this is a good expenditure by the City. !
