SUBJECT: City Council Meeting, June 13, 1991
ITEM: 9.A. Consider a resolution designating the official
publication for the City of Round Rock.
STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: Joanne Land
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: According to Section 13.02 of the City
Charter, the City Council shall contract annually with a newspaper
of general circulation in the City as the official newspaper for
all legal notices. The Round Rock Leader has served in this
capacity for all but one year since 1977. The relationship and
cooperation the Leader has shown the staff is excellent.
Attached for your consideration is a proposal submitted by the
Round Rock Leader and a proposal submitted by the Austin American
Statesman.
Staff recommends the Council designate the Round Rock Leader as the
official publication. We would also like to note that the City
uses the classified section of the Austin American Statesman on a
regular basis and will continue to do so.

be making selection of an official publication for your fine
