Dear Council Members:
The Round Rock Chamber of Commerce has traditionally sponsored the
Frontier Days events in downtown Round Rock. The local civic clubs and
organizations which operate the food, drink and game booths make every
effort to insure that the location of their booths do not interfere with
traffic or emergency vehicles.
However, we have a continuing concern that unauthorized booths, not
under common control and not operating under the rules and regulations
of the Chamber, might set up booths which are inconsistent with City
policy.
As in years past, the best method to prevent this problem is for the
City to permit the Chamber of Commerce the use of the streets, sidewalks
and parking garage for the booths and exhibits from Friday evening, July
5th through 1:00 a.m. Sunday, July 7th. The Chamber will assign booth
space and be able to control booth activities.
We will begin closing the streets at 4:30 p.m. on Friday night and they
will remain closed until after the street dance on Saturday night. At
the conclusion of the street dance the streets will be re- opened and
cleaned.
