Consider a resolution authorizing the purchase of 2 Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Units for the City's computer system. STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: David Kautz STAFF RECOMMENDATION: The recommended provider for the Utility /Finance UPS is Quality Solutions, Inc. When attached to a computer system, an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) protects the system against power surges, sags, noise, brown outs and blackouts. The UPS also allows for the orderly, automatic shutdown of the system in the event of a sustained power failure. We advertised for 2 UPS units (1 for utility /finance and 1 for the library) and received 6 bids. The library UPS is not recommended under this bid due to improper sizing of the systems.
