R-92-1768 - 12/2/1992WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Round Rock, Texas wishes to encourage all registered voters in the City of Round Rock to vote in city elections; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that C.D. Fulkes Middle School and Round Rock High School would be easily accessible to voters in the City of Round Rock,; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS That C.D. Fulkes Middle School and Round Rock High School are hereby designated as the official polling places for the January 16, 1993 Special Called City Council Election and that the attached Election Order calling the January 16, 1993 Special Called City Council Election is hereby approved. ATTEST: JOANNE LAND, City Secretary RESOLUTION NO. / 76/2 MIKE ROBINSON, Mayor City of Round Rock, Texas THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF WILLIAMSON CITY OF ROUND ROCK ELECTION ORDER I, MIKE ROBINSON, in my capacity as Mayor of the City of Round Rock, Texas, do hereby order that a special election be held in said City on the 16th day of January, 1993, for the purpose of electing the following official for said City: Council, Place 5 (unexpired term). Filing shall commence at 8:00 a.m., December 3, 1992 and the filing deadline for said election shall be at 5:00 p.m., December 16, 1992. The said election shall be held at the following places in said City, and the following named persons are hereby appointed officers for said election. In all Williamson County election Precincts on the EAST side of IH -35 that are inside the City limits of Round Rock, the voting shall take place at C.D. Fulkes Middle School in said City, with Connie Evers as presiding Judge, and said alternate presiding judge and clerks to assist her which shall not be less than two. In all Williamson County Election Precincts on the WEST side of IH -35 that are inside the City limits of Round Rock, the voting shall take place at Round Rock High School in said City, with Sharon Johannsen as presiding Judge, and said alternate presiding judge and clerks to assist him which shall not be less than two. The polls at the designated polling place shall, on said election day, be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Joanne Land is hereby appointed Clerk for early voting, and shall appoint deputy clerks as necessary for early voting. The early voting for the above designated election shall be held at City Hall, 3rd floor, Room 306, 221 East Main Street, within said City and said place of early voting shall remain open for at least eight hours on each day for early voting which is not a Saturday, a Sunday, or an official State holiday, beginning on the 20th day and continuing through the 4th day preceding the date of said election (December 28, 1992 through January 12, 1993). Said place of voting shall remain open between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on each day for said early voting. Early voting shall also be held Saturday, January 9, 1993 from the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Sunday, January 10, 1993 from the hours of 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the same location as regular early voting. The above described place for early voting is also the early voting clerk's mailing address to which ballot applications and ballots voted by mail may be sent. That said election shall be held in accordance with the Election Code of this State and only resident qualified voters of said City shall be eligible to vote at said election. Notice of said election will be given in accordance with the terms and provisions of Article 4.05 of the Election Code and Article 29e and the City Secretary is hereby instructed to have said notice posted and published in accordance with Articles 4.05 and 29e. That immediately after said election is held, the officers holding the same shall make returns of the result thereof to the Mayor of this City as required by the Election Code of this State. A copy of this Order shall also serve as a writ of election which shall I. delivered to the Presiding Judges, for said election.
