Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a tri -party election agreement with the Round Rock Independent School District, Williamson County and the City of Round Rock. STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: Joanne Land STAFF RECOMMENDATION: The proposed resolution will allow the Mayor to enter into a tri -party election agreement with the Round Rock Independent School District and Williamson County for a joint election for Saturday, May 1, 1993. This is the same type of agreement we have entered into with the RRISD over the last several years but this year, due to the senatorial races, the County will participate.--_, Staff feels this is the most economical way to hold these elections and the easiest on the voters since this enables them to vote at only one location for all three elections. 1 ' < THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK 1 221 East Main Street ' Round Rock, Texas 78664 , , ''- )) 1 512.255 -3612 `)))) Mayor - Mike Robinson Mayor Pro -tom JimmyJoseph Council Members f? Enclosed are the two originals of our Joint Election Agreement for your coun- cil's signatures. (These wonderful documents are becoming a regular traveling show, aren't they ?) They didn't get on our board's agenda, as anticipated, for this next board meeting, February 18th. Therefore, it won't be until March 25th now before we have our signatures. Since your council meeting is on the February 27th, the copies should go ahead and be signed by your people first, if it's not too late to get them onto your agenda. Connie Evers will be the judge for the C.D. Fulkes polling place again this year, but Woodie Woodside will not be available for the Round Rock High School polling place. He is going on a cruise during that time. Sharon Johanssen, whom you used in your last election, has agreed to judge for us in that spot. We are lucky, given the problems she had last. I will not allow that to happen to her again, and I'm so sorry you had to deal with it as well. Well see if we can have a much smoother time of it for all concerned, at this election. The location of voting at Round Rock High School will be the Cafeteria Building where it was located last year. I am having voter parking signs made up for this, and have a person hired to help out with voter parking during the first two hours of the election, at Round Rock High School. C.D. Fulkes should not require the extra help, although I will provide all our polling places with the parking signs. I appreciate your help in our Joint Election Agreements, and look forward to talking to you in the future.
