R-94-01-13-9E - 1/13/1994Wildlife Code, Section 24.005 for the purpose of allowing the political subdivisions of the State of Texas to participate in the Texas Recreation & Parks Account Program; and WHEREAS, the Applicant is fully eligible to receive assistance under these programs; and WHEREAS, the Applicant is desirous of authorizing an official to represent and act for the Applicant in dealing with the Department concerning these Programs; Now Therefore KS /RESOLUTION RSOIO44E RESOLUTION NO. R @/ of - i3- 9� A Resolution of the City of Round Rock, Texas hereinafter referred to as "Applicant" designating certain officials as being responsible for, acting for, and on behalf of the Applicant in dealing with the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, hereinafter referred to as "Department ", for the purpose of participating in the grant program; certifying that the Applicant is eligible to receive assistance under such programs; certifying that the Applicant matching share is readily available; and dedicating the proposed site for public recreational uses. WHEREAS, the United States Congress has passed the Land & Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965 (Public Law 88 -578) for outdoor recreation purposes; and WHEREAS, the Texas Legislature has approved the Parks & Wildlife Code, Section 13.309 authorizing the State of Texas, and its political subdivisions, to participate in the federal program established under said Public Law 88 -578; and WHEREAS, the Texas Legislature has approved the Parks & TEXAS, c ti BE IT RESOLVED 13Y THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, I. That the Applicant hereby certifies that it is eligible to receive assistance under these Programs. II. That the Applicant hereby certifies that the matching share for this application is readily available at this time. III. That the Applicant hereby authorizes and directs its City Manager to act for the Applicant in dealing with the Department for the purpose of these programs, and the City Manager is hereby officially designated as the representative in this regard. IV. The Applicant hereby specifically authorizes the City Manager to make application to the Department concerning the site to be known as in the City of Round Rock for use as a park site. The City hereby acknowledges that is hereby dedicated (or will be dedicated upon completion of the proposed acquisition) for public outdoor recreation purposes in perpetuity. Consider a resolution approving an application to Texas Parks and Wildlife for a west side swimming pool. STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: Sharon Prete STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS: APPROVAL This resolution authorizes the staff to submit a grant application, for the pool project, to Texas Parks and Wildlife. It also confirms that funds are available for the City's matching share. This 1.5 million dollar project will cost the city 1 million dollars to construct. The city will be responsible for the M & 0 of the facility and will charge user groups accordingly to help defray these expenses.
