R-94-02-24-9A - 2/24/1994Affairs ( TDHCA) in conjunction with the Texas Department of
Commerce (TDOC) has approved an award of $1,511,596 to the City of
Round Rock (City) to support the proposed expansion of Dell
Computer Corporation (Dell), and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used to provide public
infrastructure improvements to Dell's expansion site, and
WHEREAS, the proposed Dell expansion will result in the
creation of at least 330 jobs for the City, and
WHEREAS, the commitment and approval of TDHCA and TDOC
requires formal acceptance and response by the City within forty -
five (45) days from the date of the commitment letter, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the Mayor to
execute a letter of formal acceptance, Now Therefore
TEXAS,
That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on
behalf of the City a letter indicating the City's acceptance of the
aforesaid award.

Dear Mayor Culpepper:
I am pleased to inform you that, effective December 13, 1993 the Texas
Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) in conjunction with the
Texas Department of Commerce (TDOC) has approved an award of $1,511,596
to the city of Round Rock to support the proposed expansion of Dell Computer
Corporation (Dell), a manufacturer of personal computers. These funds will be
used to provide a public infrastructure improvements to the business site and will
result in the creation of 330 jobs for the community. This assistance will be made
available through the Texas Capital Fund/Texas Community Development Program
upon execution and completion of contract terms. The contract is in the review
process now and will be mailed to you soon.
This commitment requires formal acceptance and response by the city and Dell
within forty -five (45) days of the date of this commitment letter. If not accepted,
within the timeframe prescribed, this commitment shall expire and its term will
become null and void.

The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) requires that
the formal acceptance letter be signed by both the Mayor and Michael Dell and
returned within 45 days from January 31, 1994. The purpose of this letter is to show
the City's intent to proceed with the contract between TDHCA and the City of Round
Rock concerning the Dell Computer Corporation infrastructure grant project.
Failure to meet this deadline will result in the $1,511,596 grant becoming null and
void.
