R-94-04-14-9C - 4/14/1994RESOLUTION NO. - " I `I -0 WHEREAS, the City Council desires to remain in complete compliance with federal regulations, and WHEREAS,nondiscrimination is in everyone's best interest and also required by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, 1. That the City pledges compliance with HUD's regulations implementing Section 504 (24 CRF Part 8, dated June 2, 1988); 2. That the City does not discriminate on the basis of disability status in the admission or access to, or treatment or employment in, its federally assisted programs or activities; 3. That Linda Gunther is designated as the City's Section 504 Compliance Coordinator; 4. That the City will complete a Section 504 Self Evaluation /Review. RESOLVED this 14th day of April, 1'94. Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to appoint a Section 504 Coordinator (Americans with Disabilities Act) as required by Contract No. 703152 (Dell Computer) between the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs and the City. Staff Resource Person: Joe Vining Recommendation: Approval In order to comply with the ADA federal requirements as part of the infrastructure improvements contract with the State, the city must officially designate a Section 504 Coordinator. Linda Gunther, the City's personnel manager, has been the City's liaison concerning ADA. This resolution will designate her as the 504 Coordinator.
