"Q`l 7 E WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock desires to retain engineering services for the joint City/School pool, and WHEREAS, Baker Aicklen & Associates, Inc. has submitted an agreement to provide said services, and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to enter into said agreement with Baker Aicklen & Associates, Inc., Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City an agreement with Baker Aicklen & Associates, Inc. for the joint City/School pool. Basically,our proposal provides for the preliminary and final platting of a tract on Deepwood Drive,north of the R.R.High School practice fields,and preparing construction plans for a proposed 8"waterline. Below is a more specific list of our proposed Scope of Services and Basis of Compensation, SCOPE OF SERVICES PLATTING A. PRELIMINARY PLAT 1, Assemble and review pertinent data. 2, Perform boundary survey verification,including additional 1z.0,W.to be dedicated. ?. Using City topographic and utility maps as well as surveys by others, prepare base ntap for site. 4. Wei with R.R.1.S.D.and the City to discuss objectives,special criteria, requirements,particular concerns,and scheduling. 5. Using base ntap,perform preliminary drainage study work. C. Coordinate with Client to refine lot configurations,including the dedication of Deepwood Drive. 3. Attend necessary meetings with local officials and utility companies. 4. Perform office computations and analyze findings to establish proper position of property lines and corners in area. 5. Prepare and submit subdivision final plat with necessary certifications and flutes. 6. Coordinate with City during review process. 7. Survey and monument the property corners(stake and flag)on one-time basis. 8. Respond to staff comments. 9. Coordinate Client's submission of tax certificates,letter of credit and fees. 10. Furnish copies(5)ol'approved final plat and supporting engineering data. C. FINAL DESIGN OF WATERLINE LOOP 1. Assemble and review pertinent data. 2. Meet with City staff to discuss waterline location,tie in paints,special criteria&requirements,and scheduling 3. Prepare detailed construction plans for 8"waterline connection between existing waterlines on Deepwood Drive and High School Driveway. 4. Coordinate with electric,gas,and telephone company. Furnish(5)copies of approved plans. D. CONSTRUCTION PHASE SERVICES 1. Assist on preconstruction conference. 2. Review shop drawings. . 3. Visit construction site periodically. 4. Interpret drawings and specifications, 5. Observe construction for general conformity to contract docutttettts(not full time representation) 6. Prepare final punch list. 7. issue Contractors'Certificate of Completion. BASIS OF COMPENSATION We propose to provide the above-described Scope of Services on an hourly-charge plus reimbursable-expense basis. The hourly rate will be in accordance with the attached hourly rate sheet. Below is a listing of our estimation of the costs for the different major items of work. A. Preliminary Plat Boundary Survey Verification $1500.+tax Preliminary Platting 1$ 500. Subtotal $3000. B, Final Plat $3500. C. Waterline Design $1500. 0. Construction Phase Services $1000. Total $9000.00 NOTE' Budget assumes a concept plan will not be required by City. You will be advised as to the status of our charges and budget. Should it appear that these estimated amounts will be exceeded,subsequent request for additional authorization will be made in advance. Not included in the above estimates are the following: Any work beyond obtaining final plat approval;Pollution Abatement plans,endangered species survey,karst surveys, archeological and geological surveys,or other special studies,ifrequired;and fees charged by City/County. The firm's professional liability is limited to the total amount of compensation. If this proposal is acceptable,please endorse the enclosed agreement and return a copy to our office for our files.
