MEMORANDUM
RE: Combination Sewer Cleaning Equipment
In May of 1995 the Houston Galveston Area Council (HGAC) awarded to STM Equipment
the bid for combination sewer cleaning equipment. We wish to purchase a vacuum truck thru the
HOAC.
This equipment will be used for line cleaning and removing debris from the sewer system
as well as leaning storm drains for the Street Department.
HOAC sent out many invitations to bid but only received one bid which was awarded to
STM Equipment.
I called nine cities in Texas which has purchased equipment from STM. All nine people
contacted stated that STM provides outstanding service on all equipment purchased.
The unit we wish to purchase Is Vector 2100 series. Vector has been manufacturing
vacuum units for 30 years. The net total price for this unit is $156,225. We have $150,000
budgeted but the remainder can be transferred from excess In capital equipment account 20-63.
Staff recommends purchase of Sewer Vacuum Truck.
