R- 96- 10- 24 -10B WHEREAS, the Downtown Business Association of Round Rock has requested that a portion of Lampasas Street from Main Street north to the alley, situated between Lampasas Street and Austin Street, be closed from 10:00 o'clock a.m. until 5:00 o'clock p.m. on November 23, 1996 for the Downtown Business Association Chocolate Affair, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to grant such request, Now Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That a portion of Lampasas Street from Main Street north to the alley, situated between Lampasas Street and Austin Street, be closed as set forth above. We again ask "permission to close Lampassas between E. Main north to the alley. The street closure is needed on Saturday, Nov 23rd from 8:OOam to 6:00 pm. This is the section of street between Bayberry Market and Main Street Mercantile. It is to be used as a food court and for entertainment. Consider a resolution authorizing the street closing of a portion of Lampasas Street for the Downtown Business Association "A Chocolate Affair." STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: Joanne Land STAFF RECOMMENDATION: The Downtown Business Association would like to hold their "A Chocolate Affair" on November 22 and 23, 1996. Both the Fire and Police Departments have been contacted and have no problem with the street closing. Terry Myers will be at the meeting to make this request. Please see the attached map for the exact location of the street closing. Staff recommends approval.
