R-96-11-07-10E - 11/7/1996WHEREAS, V.T.C.A., Government Code, Chapter 791, the Texas Interlocal Cooperation Act, provides for the cooperation of local governments for the joint use of facilities or services; and WHEREAS,Williamson County is currently providing Emergency Medical Services to the citizens of Round Rock; and WHEREAS, Williamson County Emergency Medical Services {"EMS") currently is located at the County annex on Commerce Street; and WHEREAS, EMS desires to locate its operations, including emergency medical vehicles and personnel, at the City of Round Rock's Central Fire Station located at 203 Commerce Street; and WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock and Williamson County desire to enter into an Interlocal Agreement for the use of the Central Fire Station by Williamson County EMS; Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City said Interlocal Agreement, a copy of same being attached hereto as Exhibit A. II. DURATION This Agreement shall be effective upon the signing of this Agreement by both parties and shall continue for ten years thereafter, unless terminated earlier by elLliei party, as set forth below. This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties hereto, and supersedes all their oral and written negotiations, agreements and understandings of every kind. The parties understand, agree and declare that no promise, warranty, statement or representation of any kind whatsoever, which is not expressly stated in this Agreement, has been made by any party hereto or its officers, employees or other agents to induce execution of this Agreement. 3. Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Interlocal Agreement with Williamson County for the use of a portion of the Central Fire Station by County EMS. STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: Lynn Bizzell STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends entering into an Interlocal Agreement with Williamson County for certain renovations to the Central Fire Station. The County will contribute $50,000.00 to the renovation. Once construction is complete, Williamson County Emergency Medical Services will be housed at the Central Fire Station at 203 Commerce Street in Round Rock.
