BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,
TEXAS,
That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on
behalf of the City an agreement with HDR Engineering, Inc. for
engineering services for a waterline in Hester's Crossing, a copy
of said agreement being attached hereto and incorporated herein for
all purposes.

SUPPLEMENTAL AMENDMENT 1
to the July 25, 1995
AGREEMENT for PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
between
CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS and HDR ENGINEERING, Inc.
for
Water System Improvements, Pressure Plane 4 (DELL Area)
TASK 1. PRELIMINARY PHASE
SECTION 1
CHARACTER AND EXTENT OF SERVICES
The ENGINEER shall render the following professional services necessary for the
completion of water system improvements to pressure plane 4. The improvements
recommended for implementation include adding the DELL area into pressure plane 2.
This would be accomplished by constructing a 16 inch line under IH -35 north of Louis
Henna Blvd., adding two pressure control vaults to isolate the area, and the closure of a
number of existing valves. These improvements were further described in the CITY OF
ROUND ROCK Water System Improvements Pressure Plane 4 Report issued in
November, 1996. Specific tasks listed below are in addition to those required by the
AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES dated July 25, 1996.
1. Attend preliminary meeting with the CITY OF ROUND ROCK regarding the
Project.
2. Perform preliminary engineering services, including preliminary layouts,
sketches and cost estimates in connection with Project in sufficient detail to
indicate clearly the problems involved, the alternate solutions available to
the CITY OF ROUND ROCK, and to set forth clearly the ENGINEER's
recommendations.
Prepare utility easement and ownership maps along the east and west
sides of IH -35 from Louis Henna Blvd.(FM 1325) north to Williamson Drive
to determine the preferred crossing location. Perform a field survey of the
selected crossing location to collect information which in the opinion of the
Engineer is required in the design of the Project. Perform a field survey of
the selected location for the two proposed pressure control vaults. The
approximate pressure control vault locations include Louis Henna Blvd. at
Pfluger Lane and IH -35 east frontage road at Williamson Drive.
3. Prepare (5) copies of a Preliminary Engineering Report.

TASK 2. DESIGN PHASE
1. Prepare detailed specifications and the following contract drawings, for
construction of the Project authorized by the CITY OF ROUND ROCK. The
expected Project sheet count is listed below:
1. Cover Sheet
2. Location Map, Sheet Index, and General Notes
3. IH -35 crossing Plan and Profile
4. Boring details
5. Control Vault Plan and Sections and Details
6. Standard details including trench section, embedment details, thrust
block details, connection details, erosion control details, signage, and any
other details necessary for the construction of the facility.
2. Provide easement and right -of -way descriptions to the CITY OF ROUND
ROCK in conjunction with submission of final plans. These will be provided
in the form of field notes and drawings of the affected properties for the
construction of the IH -35 crossing.
3. Prepare Tx DOT Form 1082 for submission to the Texas Transportation
Commission for utility lines on controlled acess hghway.
4. Provide field note descriptions to the CITY OF ROUND ROCK for any
site(s) the CITY OF ROUND ROCK will need to acquire for this Project.
These descriptions will be provided within thirty (30) days after authorization
by CITY OF ROUND ROCK, barring unforeseen and unusual difficulties
associated with the property.
Task 3. CONSTRUCTION PHASE
1. As defined in the original AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
and requested by the CITY OF ROUND ROCK.
A. PRELIMINARY PHASE:

THE ENGINEER's COMPENSATION
Payment for services in the Preliminary Phase shall be made to the ENGINEER on
a Lump Sum basis in an amount of $9,100.00. HDR will submit monthly invoices based
on the percent complete.
Final payment for services authorized in the Preliminary Phase shall be due upon
the completion of these services and upon the CITY OF ROUND ROCK's acceptance,
which shall be within thirty (30) days after submission.

B: DESIGN PHASE
Payment for services in the Design Phase shall be made to the ENGINEER on a
Lump Sum basis in an amount of $28,950.00. This fee shall include a Lump Sum fee of
$4,500.00 for subconsultant Baker - Aicklen & Associates, Inc. required for survey work.
HDR will submit monthly invoices based on the percent complete.
Final payment for services authorized in the Design Phase shall be due upon the
completion of these services and upon the CITY OF ROUND ROCK's acceptance, which
shall be within thirty (30) days after submission.
C. CONSTRUCTION PHASE
Payment for services in the Construction Phase shall be made to the Engineer on
a reimbursable, per diem basis in the amount not to exceed $10,000.00.
Final payment for services authorized in the Construction Phase shall be due upon
the completion of these services and upon the CITY OF ROUND ROCK's acceptance,
which shall be within thirty (30) days after submission.
The CITY OF ROUND ROCK and the HDR each binds himself and his
successors, executors, administrators and assigns to the other party of this Agreement
and to the successors, executors, administrators and assigns of such other party in
respect to all covenants of the Agreement. Except as above, neither the CITY OF
ROUND ROCK nor HDR shall assign, sublet or transfer his interest in this Agreement
without the written consent of the other. Nothing herein shall be construed as creating
any public body which may be a party hereto.
