R-97-03-13-10D - 3/13/1997RESOLUTION NO. R- 97- 03- 13 -10D WHEREAS, Maxserve, Inc. ( "Maxserve ") is considering locating its business in the City of Round Rock, and WHEREAS, Maxserve will bring approximately 800 jobs and considerable tax base to the City, and WHEREAS, as an incentive for Maxserve to locate its business in the City, the City Council hereby determines that it is in the best interest of the City to waive and reduce certain development fees, and WHEREAS, the City Council also determines that such waiver and reduction of fees will result in substantial economic benefit to the City, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the following fees for the Maxserve development project shall be waived or reduced: ATTEST: a) The rough cut permit fee will be waived; b) the building permit fee will be waived; c) the wastewater discharge permit fee will be waived; d) the water and wastewater inspection fee will be waived; and e) one -half of the water and wastewater impact fees will be waived. DuPont, President The DuPont Group 6330 Hwy. 290 East, Suite 310 Austin, Texas 78723 Dear Mr. DuPont: In exchange for 800 jobs to be created by MaxServe the City of Round Rock will do the following: 1) The City will construct a 10 inch sewer line along the western edge of the property. This construction is estimated at $66,113. 2) Regional detention participation is at the owners discretion. If you choose to participate, the fee will be based on developed acreage only and the funds can be used for off-site improvements that directly affect your tract 3) The City will waive the fees for rough cut permit, building permit, wastewater discharge permit, and the water and wastewater inspection fee for the MaxServe lot. These fees total $7,210. 4) The City will waive one -half of the domestic and irrigation Water and Wastewater Impact Fees. The current estimated fee is $23,355; one half of this fee is $11,677.50. The total of these incentives are $85,000. If for some reason MaxServe decided not to locate in Round Rock any of the above waivers or capital facility expenditures that have been made by the City shall be refunded to the City. Staff Resource Person: Joe Vining Staff Recommendation: Approval In exchange for locating this industry in Round Rock and providing 800 jobs, the City committed to waiving certain fees. This resolution provides the authorization to waive these fees. A copy of the letter written by the Mayor is attached.
