RESOLUTION NO. R- 97- 08- 14 -13E
WHEREAS, the Law Enforcement Exploring Division of the Boy
Scouts of America, in conjunction with local law enforcement
agencies, provides an opportunity for young men and women ages 16
through 20 to determine the extent of their interest in a career in
law enforcement by providing hands -on experience; and
WHEREAS, the Law Enforcement Explorer program assists in
educating local youth regarding the functions and activities of the
local law enforcement agency; and
WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock Police Department desires to
establish a Law Enforcement Explorer Post at the Round Rock Police
Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Round Rock hereby
finds that establishing a Law Enforcement Explorer Post at the
Round Rock Police Department will improve the character, promote
the good citizenship, and develop the leadership qualities of the
local youth; Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,
TEXAS,
That the City Council hereby authorizes the City to establish
a Law Enforcement Explorer Post at the Round Rock Police
Department.

HOLD HARMLESS, RELEASE, AND MEDICAL TREATMENT CONSENT AGREEMENT
The undersigned, parent /guardian of
, a member of Law Enforcement Explorer Post No. 1096, in
consideration of participating in the Law
Enforcement Explorer Post Program, hereby indemnifies and holds harmless
the City of Round Rock, its officers, agents, and employees, specifically
including any and all police officers or personnel involved with the
supervision and control of the Law Enforcement Explorer Post No. 1096,
from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, causes of action,
suits and liability of every kind, including all expenses of litigation,
court costs, and attorney's fees for injury to or death to the person or
damage to the property of , his /her
parents, siblings or heirs, regardless of whether such injuries, death,
or damages that are caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the
City of Round Rock, its officers, agents, or employees. This indemnity
and hold harmless agreement shall be considered a complete and total
waiver of any and all liability on the part of the City of Round Rock,
its officers, agents, or employees, and particularly the police officers
engaged in the supervision and control as set forth hereinabove. I also
grant permission to the City of Round Rock, its officers, agents, or
employees, and particularly the police officers engaged in the
supervision and control of the Law Enforcement Explorer Post No. 1096
Program to authorize and obtain medical care from any licensed physician,
hospital, or medical clinic should my child become ill or injured while
participating Law Enforcement Explorer activities when neither
parent /guardian is available to grant authorization for emergency
treatment.

Dear Explorer Applicant:
The Round Rock Police Department is authorized to perform criminal history record checks on
persons for criminal justice purposes, including participation in the Law Enforcement Explorer
Program. Pursuant to this authority, the City must obtain the following information to perform a
criminal history record check. This information will be used only for the purposes of obtaining a
criminal history record from the Texas Department of Public Safety or other appropriate federal,
state, or local agency. The City will consider your relevant criminal conviction record in determining
your eligibility for participation in the Law Enforcement Explorer Post No. 1096 Program.
