CITY OF ROUND ROCK
INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM
Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to Rodriguez & Huggins, Inc.
Contract For Engineering Services.
(Park Valley Drive, Round Rock Hospital Traffic, and RM 620).
The City of Round Rock entered into a contract for engineering services with Rodriguez & Huggins,
Inc. on June 26, 1997 to develop a schematic design of Park Valley Drive, to evaluate traffic signal
warrants for Round Rock Hospital, and to develop schematic designs for RM 620. The contract
required the schematic designs for RM 620 to be developed on digital ortho - photography to be
provided by the City. The City has contracted through CAPCO for the digital ortho- photography
for the entire city, and the delivery of the product is behind the original schedule. Therefore, the City
has not yet been able to provide the photography to the engineering consultant. The delay is beyond
the control of Rodriguez & Huggins, Inc. No changes in the scope of work or compensation are
contemplated because of this extension in the term of the contract.
Please prepare a resolution for consideration by the Council at their November 13, 1997 meeting to
approve the proposed Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to extend the term of the contract to March
31, 1997.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
The City of Round Rock entered into a contract for engineering services with Rodriguez
& Huggins, Inc. on June 26, 1997 to develop a schematic design of Park Valley Drive, to
evaluate traffic signal warrants for Round Rock Hospital, and to develop schematic designs
for RM 620. The contract required the schematic designs for RM 620 to be developed on
digital ortho - photography to be provided by the City. The City has contracted through
CAPCO for the digital ortho- photography for the entire city, and the delivery of the product
is behind the original schedule. Therefore, the City has not yet been able to provide the
photography to the engineering consultant. Because of the delay in the digital ortho-
photography, we are proposing with Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to extend the
termination date of our contract with Rodriguez & Huggins to March 31, 1998. The delay
is beyond the control of Rodriguez & Huggins, Inc. No changes in the scope of work or
compensation are contemplated because of this extension in the term of the contract.
Staff recommends your approval of this Supplemental Agreement.
