Final Draft
Regional Water Planning Areas
December 18, 1997
DATE: December 22, 1997
SUBJECT: City Council Meeting, January 8, 1998
ITEM: 10G. Consider a resolution of support for a nominee to the Texas
Water Development Board's Regional Planning Group.
STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: Jim Nuse
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
As a result of the passage of Senate Bill 1, the Texas Water Development Board is seeking
to appoint parties interested in water planning issues to a Regional Water Planning
Committee. Eleven members will be appointed from Area `G'. Area 'G' includes all or parts
of 37 counties in Brazos basin. Representation on this Committee is critical to ensure that
the Williamson County interests are represented. Cedar Park, Georgetown, and
Williamson County have pledged their support for this candidate.
