To Whom It May Concern:
Subject: El Amistad Fiesta - Downtown Location
Please consider this our official request to hold our Annual El Amistad Memorial Day
Fiesta at our traditional downtown venue. As you aware we have held our Fiesta at this
location in prior years and have enjoyed great success, with the cooperation of the entire
Round Rock community.
We are requesting your permission to enclose the area bounded by Mays Street on the
west, South Sheppard Street on the east, East Liberty Avenue on the north and East
Bagdad Avenue on the south. This enclosure is essentially the same as what we have
always asked for with the exception of closing all of South Sheppard as bounded by
Liberty and Bagdad. This minor adjustment of the eastern boundary will allow for
improved handicapped access and utilization of the permanent power source on the
corner of Main and Sheppard.
We have contacted Chiefs Brazell and Kuhlman to ensure that these boundaries do not
compromise safety or security in any fashion. We look forward to meeting with you as
we present our plans in person at the next scheduled session of the City Council on
February 12. We thank you in anticipation of receiving your approval to hold our Fiesta
Amistad in the downtown area and ensure our 30 year of continued success.
