agreement ( "Agreement ") with Camp Dresser & McKee Inc. for engineering
services for Filter Media Replacement and Improvements to the Water
Treatment Plant, Phase I and II, and
WHEREAS, Camp Dresser & McKee Inc. has submitted Amendment No.
1 to the Agreement to reduce the scope of the project, as more
particularly described in the attached Amendment No. 1, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to enter into said Amendment
No. 1 to the Agreement with Camp Dresser & McKee Inc., Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on
behalf of the City Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement with Camp Dresser
& McKee Inc., to reduce scope of the project, as more particularly
described in the attached Amendment No. 1.
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of
the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this
Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the
public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and
the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted
upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas
Government Code, as amended, and the Act.

Amend the Contract for Engineering Services dated December 18, 1997 between City of Round
Rock, Texas "City" and Camp Dresser & McKee Inc. "Engineer" as follows.
1. Page 1 of 11, in the third paragraph beneath WITNESSETH revise the language to read
as follows:
"WHEREAS, the City desires to contract for engineering services described as follows:
[1998 - WTP Phase I & Phase II Miscellaneous Improvements]. Provide plans and
specifications for the replacement of the existing filter media in two Phase II filters, and
revisions to the exterior lighting system at the Phase I and Phase II water treatment
plants. Provide an evaluation of the existing washwater recovery system."
2. Page 2 of 11, Article 4, Compensation, revise the first sentence of the second paragraph
to read as follows:
"The lump sum amount payable under this Contract without modification of the
Contract is $43 950 as shown in Attachment D - Fee Schedule."
3. Attachment B, SERVICES TO THE PROVIDED BY THE ENGINEER, Item Number 6
under DESIGN PHASE, revise the language to read as follows:
Provide detailed plans and specifications for the Filter /Lighting Improvements.
The design will generally consist of the following:
a. Remove and replace the filter media at two Phase II filters. Installation of
three turbidimeters which shall provide a readable value at the device
and a recordable value through the SCADA system.
b. Remove and replace the clarified water bypass gates at the Phase I and
Phase II clarifiers.
c. Remove and replace the lighting system at the Phase I and Phase 11
plants."
4. Attachment D, 1-..bb SCHEDULE, revise the fee schedule to read as follows:
"Washwater Recovery System Letter Report $10,000
Plans and Specifications 27,160

Original scope of work was substantially reduced and
engineering fee was lowered from $80,800.00 to
