I am writing to thank you for allowing the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization

Coalition to present before you on April 29, 1999. I am keenly interested in improvements
to the following roadways:
US 183: North end of the Colorado River Bridge to SH 71, construct mainlanes and
frontage roads.
US 183: South of IH 35 to south of US 290, construct mainlanes and frontage roads.
US 183/SH 71 Interchange: West of Riverside Drive to Thornberry Lane, construct

These projects are important because of high traffic volumes, severe congestion and
needed access to the new Austin - Bergstrom Intemational Airport scheduled to open in
May of this year.
The (Business) (City) (County) of expresses its appreciation for the
funding the Commission has previously approved for the U.S. 183, U.S. 290/SH 71

population over the next 20 years. The completion of these three facilities is crucial to the
economic vitality of our region as well as allowing for safe and efficient travel.
I ask that the Texas Transportation Commission and the Texas Department of
Transportation support and fund our requests for the improvements of US 183 and the
US 183/SH 71 interchange.
Thank you very much for your consideration of this most worthwhile investment.
