RESOLUTION NO. R- 99- 06- 10 -10B1
WHEREAS, the Texas General Services Commission is authorized
to provide purchasing services for local governments pursuant to
Title 8, Subtitle D, Sections 271.082 and 281.083 of the Local
Government Code, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Round Rock is a
local government defined as an entity qualified to participate in
the Cooperative Purchasing Program of the Texas General Services
Commission pursuant to Section 271.081 of the Local Government
Code, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the requirements of Section
113.85(a) of the General Services Commission administrative rules,
the Agent(s) of Record, Robert L. Bennett, Jr., City Manager or his
successor, is authorized to execute any and all documentation for
the City of Round Rock pertaining to its participation in the Texas
General Services Commission Cooperative Purchasing Program, and
WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock acknowledges its obligation
to pay participation fees established by the Texas General Services
Commission, Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,
TEXAS,
That request be made to the Texas General Services Commission
to approve the City of Round Rock for participation in the Texas
General Services Commission Cooperative Purchasing Program.
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice
of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this
Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to
the public as required by law at all times during which this
Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered
and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act,
Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended, and the Act.

ITEM: 10.B.1. Consider a resolution authorizing participation in the cooperative
purchasing program with the Texas General Services Commission. This
resolution authorizes the City to renew and expand participation in the
cooperative purchasing program with the state. This program allows the
City to receive preferred pricing associated with the larger commodity
quantities purchased by the state. Under this program the City may purchase
commodities such as automobiles, trucks, police department firearms, parks
and recreation maintenance equipment and road maintenance equipment
