R- 99- 07- 22 -10B1 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock, Texas, hereinafter referred to as "City ", desires to make application to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, hereinafter referred to as "Department ", to participate in the Texas Recreation & Parks Account Grant Program, hereinafter referred to as "Program ", and WHEREAS, the Texas Legislature has approved the Program (Section 24 of the Parks & Wildlife Code) for the purpose of allowing the political subdivisions of the State of Texas to participate in the Program, and WHEREAS, the City is fully eligible to receive assistance under the Program, and WHEREAS, City is desirous of authorizing an official to represent and act for the City in dealing with the Department concerning the Program, Now Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS THAT, 1. The City hereby certifies that it is eligible to receive assistance under the Program. 2. The City hereby certifies that the matching share for this application is readily available at this time. The City hereby authorizes and directs Sharon Prete, Director of Parks and Recreation, to act for the City in dealing with the Department for the purpose of the Program, and Sharon Prete is hereby officially designated as the representative in this regard. 4 The City hereby specifically authorizes the official to make application to the Department concerning the site known as the Meadow Lake Park in the City of Round Rock for use as a park site, and that the Meadow Lake Park has been dedicated for public park and recreation purposes in pertetuity. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended, and the Act. Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a grant application to the Parks and Wildlife. This is a 50 -50 matching grant, totaling $210,000.00, for the development of Meadow Lake Park. The City's match is funded with General Obligation Bond monies earmarked for neighborhood park development from the 1996 General Obligation Bond Election.
