R- 99- 09- 09 -10B1 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has duly advertised for bids for a breathing air compressor for the Fire Department, and WHEREAS, Perkins Enterprises has submitted the lowest and best bid, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the bid of Perkins Enterprises, Now Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the bid of Perkins Enterprises is hereby accepted as the lowest and best bid and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to issue a purchase order to Perkins Enterprises for a breathing air compressor for the Fire Department. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended, and the Act. Consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to issue a Purchase Order to Perkins Enterprises for the purchase of a breathing air compressor. On August 31, 1999 three (3) bids were received and opened for the purchase of a breathing air compressor. Perkins Enterprises submitted the lowest and best bid at $19,496.00. Staff Resource Person: Lynn Bizzell, Fire Chief. The Fire Department went out for bids on a replacement Breathing Air Compressor. The compressor is utilized for filling our Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) that the firefighters wear during training and emergencies. The current compressor is 16 years old, requiring continuous repair. The new compressor will enable us to generate increased air flow for our Self Contained Breathing Air Systems currently in- service. On August 31, 1999 at 3:00 p.m. bids were open for the compressor.
