The City has developed a master plan in order to build a reuse water system in the northeast area of
Round Rock. This project, known as Phase 2, will connect at the termination point of Phase 1 in Old
Settlers Park and extend northward and connect to the existing Phase 3 line near the intersection of
A.W. Grimes and County Road 112. This Phase 2 Project is the next step in the City's efforts in
providing reuse water to this area of Round Rock.
In August of 2012, the City selected Waeltz & Prete, Inc. to design this project based on the 2012
General Utilities Professional Services Request for Qualifications. The original Contract with Waeltz
& Prete, Inc. was for a Preliminary Engineering Report and Feasibility Study that has been
completed. That report determined the best route for the reuse pipeline. In June of 2013, City
Council approved Supplemental Contract No. 1 for the Design, Bidding, and limited Construction
Phase services for the project.
This Supplemental Contract No. 2 is necessary because, after Design was complete, the City
desired to add a Reuse Water Fill Station that will provide contractors reuse water for construction
needs. The City also wanted to correct a drainage problem on the north side of the Dell Diamond
parking lot adjacent to the future site of the filling station. The City's Staff recommends approval of
Supplemental Contract No. 2 with Waeltz & Prete, Inc. for the amount of $6,038.88. Supplemental
Contract No. 2 increases the previously amended contract to a total of $166,645.86.
