We announced to all City of Round Rock media outlets (City Focus --Channel 10, Round Rock City News that comes out in Utility Bills monthly) that we had received a grant that enabled us to havethree extrainsert ofo City public use. We wrote a press release and sent it to all local TV, radio, and newspapers; an article three elaptops for Round Rock Leader announcing that we would have additional laptops in February because we appeared in the Responds Grant. Hcoaving vingr total numbers (30 total computers for public use, 7 of which are laptops) for public use has cut down the lines of people waiting 7 laptops (30 computer immensely. In fact, many users prefer a laptop because of the privacy they offer. In January 2006, our four lar ptopslaptops were checked out 150 times in a 30 -day period, in February 2006, our 7 laptops were checked out 271 times in a 28 -day period.The reference staff have reported to me that working at the reference desks much total ofc pleasant since receiving the laptops because there are not as many frustrated patrons standing around waitingf more computer; the three new laptops help us to serve our public more efficiently or a 4.
