ITEM: Action authorizing the City Manager to execute Change
Order Number Three to the Contract with F.T. Woods
Construction Services, Inc. for the construction of the East
Water Transmission Line, Phase 3A-2 Project.
Department: Water and Wastewater Utilities
Staff Person: Tom Clark, Director of Utilities
Justification:
This Change Order is to provide a 12" Gate Valve at the intersection of
Highway 79 and Redbud Lane. This valve is necessary because the existing
valve when closed is leaking by about 600 gpm. The shut down of this valve
is required in order to allow the newly installed PRV to regulate the system
properly.
Funding:
Cost: $7,036.50
Source of funds: Utility Self -Financed Construction - Water
Outside Resources: F.T. Woods Construction Services, Inc.
Background Information:
Change Order Number Three is for the additional cost associated with
installing a 12" Gate Valve replacing an existing leaking 12" Gate Valve. This
project will be closed out once this work under Change Order Number Three
is completed.
