Department: Police Department Staff Person: Tim Ryle Justification: The Police Department recently received approval to use existing budgetary resources to begin a Motorcycle Unit program. In researching the equipping of motorcycle officers, city staff has learned that the City of Richardson has received attractive pricing for police motorcycles - a primary piece of equipment for this program. The interlocal agreement would allow the city to enjoy Richardson's pricing and allow the swift purchase of such equipment so as not to delay implementation of this program. Funding: This interlocal does not require funding. Cost: Source of funds: Background Information: The Motorcycle Unit would be developed over time and devote a group of officers specifically and solely on traffic enforcement. Updated 3-10-05
