CITY MANAGER BLUE SHEET
July 26, 2006
SUBJECT: City Manager Approval
ITEM: Interlocal agreement with the City of Richardson to allow the
City of Round Rock to use its contract pricing for the purchase of
police motorcycles.
Department: Police Department
Staff Person: Tim Ryle
Justification:
The Police Department recently received approval to use
existing budgetary resources to begin a Motorcycle Unit
program. In researching the equipping of motorcycle
officers, city staff has learned that the City of Richardson
has received attractive pricing for police motorcycles - a
primary piece of equipment for this program. The interlocal
agreement would allow the city to enjoy Richardson's
pricing and allow the swift purchase of such equipment so
as not to delay implementation of this program.
Funding: This interlocal does not require funding.
Cost:
Source of funds:
Background Information:
The Motorcycle Unit would be developed over
time and devote a group of officers specifically
and solely on traffic enforcement.
