Deck Construction for the Red Bud Lane Sidewalk Improvements Project. Department: Engineering and Development Services Staff Person: Daniel L. Ha!den, P.E., City Engineer William Dobrowolski, Senior Engineer Justification: This Change Order is for field modifications required on this construction project. Proposed changes net a saving of $96,212.63, with an increase in construction term of 16 calendar days. Funding: Cost: ($96,212.63) Source of funds: 2002 GO Bonds (Second Issuance) Outside Resources: Baker Aicklen and Associates, Inc. Background Information: Project was designed before the completion of the construction on the CR 122 improvements project. With the lay -out staking for the sidewalk improvements project construction, it was clear that field changes in the CR 122 improvements project and the narrow strip of survey information used in the design would warrant field changes. Two sections of walls did not match up with the new existing conditions, such as blocking acquisition contracted access from Red Bud Lane to an adjoining property, and not utilizing a wider area available for grade out. In addition, drainage modifications were required to match field changes made in the CR 122 improvements project as mitigation of utility conflicts. Thus, Change Order # 1 includes items relating to changes in tasks such as deletion of sections of the segmented block wall, reconfiguration of drainage, mitigation of erosion issues related to the sidewalk and road improvements, delay and accessibility issues caused by right-of-way acquisition contract agreements, and other minor adjustments.
