Re: The City of Round Rock Proposal to Provide Fire Response to Emergency
Services District #9
Dear Mr. Forster:
The City agrees to provide the following services to ESD #9 in good faith:
1. Personnel and equipment for the purpose of providing prompt and effective first
response to those served by the District at no cost until December 31, 2006
provided that the City is the sole provider for the District for the time period
from November 1, 2006 through December 31, 2007.
2. The City would work with the District to provide first response services within
the amount of funds collected by the District assuring that the Board has
sufficient funds for its operational needs.
3. The Board would secure services to the area in Williamson County that is within
Austin's ETJ through agreement with another service provider based on pro -rata
Assessed Valuation allocation.
4. The City would work with the Board in developing a long range plan including
but not limited to station location, property acquisition, staffing, apparatus &
equipment purchases.
5. The City would assist the Board in an advisory capacity in such matters as
requested by the Board.
6. Thy City would negotiate reciprocal agreements with neighboring fire service
organizations for automatic aid and mutual aid fire protection support
agreements that are mutually beneficial.
7. The City would provide the Board a monthly written report on each response
within the District indicating the type of alarm and address of the alarm.
