Fuquay tried to set the manhole but it was to small for the ductbank. AT&T was going to have to ordered a larger manhole to be delivered the following week. Fuquay moved off the project. One day lost time: Labor $900.00 Equipment and fuel $200.00 Profit and Overhead $528.00 Total $1848.00 AT&T delivered the new manhole on the 28th of February. Fuquay tried to set the manhole but it was too large. It would not fit between the existing waterline and the ductbank. Fuquay moved off the project. On Monday March the 5th AT&T asked Fuquay to get a price from Chasco to possibly do a pour in place manhole. it was also discussed to have Fuquay modify the manhole to make it fit. The decision was made to knock out sections of the manhole and have Fuquay try and slip the manhole between the waterline and ductbank. Department: Staff Person: Water and Wastewater Utilities Michael Thane, Utilities Director Justification: Chasco Constructors has completed the construction work associated with the Southwest Downtown Infrastructure Project, Phase 1A. Change Order No. 2, which closes out this project, includes a deduction of $6,232 for dry utility work that was not necessary and an additional charge of $8,716 for additional time incurred by AT&T during their dry utility work. The original contract amount was for $1,124,709. Change Order No. 2 will add $2,484 to the contract for a new contract amount of $1,150,230. Funding: Cost: Source of funds: Outside Resources: $2,484 2002 GO Bonds Page Southerland Page, LLP (Design Engineer) Chasco Constructors (Contractor) Background Information: This Phase 1A project is part of the infrastructure improvements planned for the Southwest Downtown District. This particular project includes water, stormwater, and dry utility infrastructure improvements in the Florence, McNeil, and Blair intersections as well as a boring of a storm sewer line beneath McNeil Road and the construction of a regional water quality pond south of the Union Pacific Railroad. The water quality pond is required to be constructed as part of our approved Water Pollution Abatement Plan with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. As new development projects occur in the downtown district, this pond is required in order to capture stormwater runoff from these developed areas located over the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone.
