RE: Pictometry Aerial Imagery Project
Dear Mr. Semple:
The City of Round Rock would like to participate with Williamson County
and other cities in the 2008-2009 Pictometry aerial imagery project. The
City understands that this is a two year contract project that will provide
high resolution aerial imagery for the entire Round Rock area and that the
City's share of the cost will be a total amount not to exceed $17,252.
Pending an inter -local agreement, the City is willing to commit financially
to this project, and in return receive an unlimited license to the imagery and
software for City use. While it is the City's intent to participate in this
project, Williamson County understands that no commitment of City funds
is binding until approved by the City of Round Rock City Council.
Sincerely,
R. Nuse, City Manager
of Round Rock

DATE: December 5, 2007
SUBJECT: City Manager Approval at the December 7, 2007 Staff Meeting
ITEM: Consider a letter of support to participate with Williamson
County and other cities in the 2008-2009 aerial imagery
projects.
Department: Information Services
Staff Person: Christian Collier, GIS Coordinator
Justification: The City of Round Rock is in need of updated aerial imagery to
support planning, public works, public safety and other uses.
Williamson County and other cities in the county are initiating a
project to collect imagery in during the 2008 flying season (Nov. -
Feb). This will be a two year contract that will provide high
resolution aerial imagery for the entire Round Rock area. City's
share of the cost will be a total amount not to exceed $17,252. The
city will receive an unlimited license to the imagery and software for
City use. This represents a substantial cost savings over traditional
orthoimagery acquisition projects in which the city has participated
in the past.
