Department: Engineering and Development Services Staff Person: Danny Haiden, P.E., City Engineer Justification: Supplemental Contract No. 3 is needed to authorize additional engineering services for the bidding and construction of this project. Funding: Cost: $32,660.00 Source of funds: 2002 G.O. Bonds Outside Resources: Kasberg, Patrick, and Associates, LLP Background Information: The original engineering contract, R -05-05-12-11D1, was for the amount of $57,175.00 to provide surveying and preliminary engineering for drainage improvements in the Bowman Road Drainage Basin. Supplemental Contract No. 1, R -05-11-10-13C2, added $82,300.00 in engineering costs necessary to prepare final design documents for construction. Supplemental Contract No. 2, CM -07-12-265, added $9,000.00 to the contract because of scope changes requested by the City. With Supplemental Contract No. 3, the total amount of the contract will be $181,135.000. ("Engineer") ADDRESS: One South Main Street, Temple, Texas 76501 PROJECT: Bowman Road Drainage Improvements This Supplemental Contract No. 3 to Contract for Engineering Services is made by and between the City of Round Rock, Texas, hereinafter called the "City" and Kasberg, Patrick & Associates, L.L.P., hereinafter called the "Engineer". WHEREAS, the City and Engineer executed a Contract for Engineering Services, hereinafter called the "Contract", on the 12th day of May, 2005 for the Austin & Liberty Avenue Improvements in the amount of $57,175.00.00; and WHEREAS, the City and Engineer executed Supplemental Contract No. 1 on November 10, 2005 to modify the provisions for the scope of services and to increase the compensation b $82,300.00 to a total of $139,475.00; and y WHEREAS, the City and Engineer executed Supplemental Contract No. 2 on December 21, 2007 to modify the provisions for the scope of services and to increase the compensation b $9,000.00 to a total of $148,475.00; and y WHEREAS, it has become necessary to amend the Contract to modify the provisions for the scope of services and to increase the compensation by $32,660.00 to a total of $181,135.00; and NOW THEREFORE, premises considered, the City and the Engineer agree that said Contract is amended as follows: I. Article 2, Engineering Services and Exhibit B, Engineering Services shall be amended as set forth in the attached Addendum To Exhibit B. Conduct a Pre -Bid conference. 2. Prepare & Issue addenda. 3. Conduct Bid Opening. 4. Prepare bid tabulation and Letter of Recommendation. Construction Administration Services: 1. Conduct Pre -Construction Conference. 2. Prepare plan sets for construction. 3. Review all shop drawings and project submittals. 4. Review, recommend and prepare monthly payment requests by the contractor. 5. Answer questions by contractor, as necessary. 6. Conduct periodic site visits by the engineer. 7. Conduct progress meetings every two weeks during the drainage improvements construction. 8. Prepare Record Drawings (As-builts). 9. Conduct final walk-thru with the Contractor and City present and issue a written report (punch -list) of items found not complete. 10. Conduct a follow up inspection to determine if the punch -list was completed. 11. Issue final pay request once punch list items have been completed. 12. Complete Project Certifications and close-out documents as required.
