R-2014-1699 - 8/28/2014 RESOLUTION NO. R-2014-1699 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has duly advertised for bids for the Intersection Geometric Improvements for RR Ave. at N. Lake Creek Dr., Mayfield Ranch at RM 1431, and Forest Ridge at Indigo Trail Project; and WHEREAS, Aaron Concrete Contractors, LP has submitted the lowest responsible bid; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the bid of Aaron Concrete Contractors, LP, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City a contract with Aaron Concrete Contractors, LP for the Intersection Geometric Improvements for RR Ave. at N. Lake Creek Dr., Mayfield Ranch at RM 1431, and Forest Ridge at Indigo Trail Project. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. Kimley-Horn has reviewed the bid documents submitted by Patin Construction LLC. and Aaron Concrete Contractors, LP on July 18, 2014. The bids received by both the Contractors appear to be complete and satisfactory Attached bid tabulation summarizes the bids submitted by the contractors as they compare with the Engineer's estimate. As the bid tabulation shows Aaron Concrete was the lower bidder with the 'Basebid of$108,950.00 and the Alternate' bid of$6,093.90 for a total bid of$115,043.90. The total bid submitted by Aaron Concrete is$609.50 tower than the total bid submitted by Patin Construction. Kimley-Horn recommends that the City of Round Rock accept the bids and award Aaron Concrete Contractors, LP the contract for$115,043.90 for the Intersection Improvements for Round Rock Ave., at N Lake Creek Dr., Mayfield Ranch at RM 1431, and Forest Ridge at Indigo Trail project.
