(NOI) with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ)
General Storm Water Permits Division for the City of Round Rock Raw
Water Delivery System Improvements - Pipeline Project.
Department: Water and Wastewater Utilities
Staff Person:
Justification:
Michael D. Thane, P.E., Director of Utilities
TCEQ requires that a NOI be filed by the City of Round Rock (CORR) for any construction
project disturbing an area of five (5) or more acres. Since the estimated amount of
disturbed area for this project is 10.8 acres, a NOI is required.
Funding:
Cost: $100.00
Source of funds: Capital Project Funds (Self -Financed Utility)
Outside Resources: Camp, Dresser, and McGee, Inc.
Background Information:
The WTP was expanded to a capacity of 48 million gallons per day (mgd) with the
completion of the Phase V plant expansion. The Raw Water Pump Station located on Lake
Georgetown and existing pipelines currently have the capacity to deliver 39 mgd to the
WTP. The Raw Water Pump Station located on Lake Georgetown is currently under
construction improvements to bring its capacity to 52 mgd.
This contract will authorize the replacement of approximately 17,000 linear feet of the
original 1981 30" Raw Water Line from the Lake Georgetown Pump Station to S.H. 29. The
new line will be 54" for 12,980 linear feet and 48" for 4,240 linear feet. In combination with
the existing 1995 30" Raw Water Line, these two raw water line will have the capacity to
deliver 52 mgd of raw surface water to the WTP.
In addition, the City is in the process of having the existing 48 mgd WTP re -rated with the
Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to 52 mgd.
