University Avenue, Suite 450, Georgetown, TX 78.626 PROJECT: La Fi-ontera -- Phase 2 This Supplemental Contract No. 2 to Contract for Engineering Services is made by and between the City of Round Rock, Texas, hereinafter called the "City" and Kennedy Consulting, Inc., hereinafter called the "Engineer". WHEREAS, the City and Engineer executed a Contract for Engineering Services, hereinafter called the "Contract", on the 6th day of December, 2012 for the La Frontera — Phase 2 Project in the amount of $324,515.00; and WHEREAS, the City and Engineer executed Supplemental Contract No. 1 on February 21, 2014 to change the name of the firm from Kennedy Consulting, Ltd. to Kennedy Consulting, Inc.; and WHEREAS, it has become necessary to amend the Contract to modify the provisions for the scope of services and to increase the compensation by $14520.00 to a total of $339,035.00; NOW THEREFORE, premises considered, the City and the Engineer agree that said Contract is amended as follows: I. Article 2, Engineering Services and Exhibit B, En ineering Services shall be amended as set forth in the attached Addendum To Exhibit B. I1. Article 4, Compensation and Exhibit D. Fee Schedule shall be amended by increasing by $14,520.00 the lump sum amount payable under the Contract for a total of $339,035.00, as shown by the attached Addendum to Exhibit D. Sheets, City Attorney Rev. 12/01/08 84275 ADDENDUM TO EXHIBIT B Engineering Services Project Background The City of Round Rock (the "City") proposes rehabilitation and reconstruction of portions of Parker Road, Kouri Avenue, and Sundance Parkway (the "Project") utilizing the services of Kennedy Consulting, Inc., (the "Engineer") as the prime consultant. This scope of services includes design work to revise the final plans to incorporate proposed contractor changes to the TCP phasing for an overall project cost savings. Task: General Project Management a. General Management The Engineer shall establish and maintain project schedules and budgets, develop monthly progress reports, prepare invoices and meet with the City and other entities on an as needed basis for the duration of the project design. b. Qualihj Assurance/Qualihj Control The Engineer shall review all work to assure that the work is in accordance with City requirements and that the work is completed in a timely and efficient manner. Task: Construction Engineering a. TCP Concept Redesign The Engineer will: 1. Revise General Sheets including supplemental sheet index, summary of quantities, project layouts, horizontal alignment data, and typical sections. 2. Revise Traffic Control Plan including sequence of construction narrative and phase Layouts. On December 6, 2012, the City Council executed a contract with Kennedy Consulting, Inc. for the La Frontera Phase 2 Project (R -12-12-06-F2). This contract included the design work necessary to reconstruct several streets in La Frontera, including Sundance Parkway and Parker Road. This contract was amended on February 14, 2014 (CM -14-02-315). This supplemental contract provides for adjustments to the traffic control plan, which allowed the project to be completed on an expedited schedule. This advancement in the schedule allowed for an overall reduction in the contract cost for the project of ($344,355.00), which was the subject of Council Resolution 2015-2731. The total amount of this proposed supplemental contract is $14,520.00, which brings Kennedy Consulting, Inc.'s overall contract amount to $339,035.00 for this project. Staff recommends approval.
