Department: Planning and Community Development Staff Person: Mona Ryan, Community Development Coordinator Justification: An environmental review is required with the submittal of a Housing Plan by the Round Rock Housing Authority (RRHA) to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for the disposition of twelve single family residences owned by the RRHA. Funding: Cost: None Source of funds: N/A Outside Resources: Round Rock Housing Authority US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Public Housing Division Background Information: The RRHA will sell its inventory of twelve single family residences used as rental property in its Section 8 Voucher Program (tenant rental program). In order to do this, the RRHA must develop a Housing Plan that outlines the disposition of these homes and how the program income will be used. An environmental review is one component of the Housing Plan. This activity is categorically excluded from NEPA requirements, by nature of the project (24 CFR 58.35(b)(5)). It is a housing activity that will result in the transfer of title. Tenants currently living in the residence will have first option to purchase.
