CM-09-07-136STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF WILLIAMSON SUPPLEMENTAL CONTRACT NO. 1 TO CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES FIRM: S.D. Kaliman, L.P. ("Engineer") ADDRESS: 1106 S. Mays Street, Suite 100, Round Rock, TX 78664 PROJECT: Greenslopes A/C Waterline Replacement Project This Supplemental Contract No. 1 to Contract for Engineering Services is made by and between the City of Round Rock, Texas, hereinafter called the "City" and S.D. Kallman, L.P., hereinafter called the "Engineer". WHEREAS, the City and Engineer executed a Contract for Engineering Services, hereinafter called the "Contract", on the 12th day of February, 2009 for the Greenslopes A/C Waterline Replacement Project in the amount of $59,555.00; and WHEREAS, it has become necessary to amend the Contract to modify the provisions for the scope of services and to increase the compensation by $5,974.00 to a total of $65,529.00; and NOW THEREFORE, premises considered, the City and the Engineer agree that said Contract is amended as follows: I. Article 2 Engineering Services and Exhibit B Engineering Services shall be amended as set forth in the attached Addendum To Exhibit B. Exhibit C Work Schedule shall be amended as set forth in the attached Addendum To Exhibit C. II. Article 4, Compensation and Exhibit D, Fee Schedule shall be amended by increasing by $5,974.00 the lump sum amount payable under the Contract for a total of $65,529.00, as shown by the attached Addendum to Exhibit D. Sheets, City Attorney Supplemental Contract Rev.12/01/08 400164827;0199.7088 84275 2 ADDENDUM TO EXHIBIT B Engineering Services The changes to the scope of this project are as follows: Basic Services (Supplemental No. 1 Items shown in Bold): Design Phase 1. Attend preliminary conferences with the City regarding the requirements of the project. 2. Preparation of Plans and Specifications. Construction plans shall include the location of proposed pre -chlorinated pipe bursting of the existing 8" asbestos cement water main and reconstruction of curb and gutter, sidewalk and driveways. Provide bid options for wastewater service line repair or replacement. Require sub -contractor that does water and wastewater service work to be experienced and have a local office within one hour from Round Rock. Add 400 L.F. of 16" water line pipe burst to Plans and Specifications. 3. Attend one (1) meeting with City and affected homeowners in field. 4. Prepare bid quantities. Include 400 L.F. of 16" water line pipe burst. 5. Prepare final design estimate, specifications and general notes. Bidding Phase 1. Prepare bidding documents and all copies for the bidding process. 2. Attend pre-bid conference and attend public bid opening. 3. Review bids received for completeness and accuracy and prepare detailed bid tabulations. 4. Make recommendation for bid award and prepare notice of award. 5. Prepare five sets of final contract documents. Construction Phase 1. Provide periodic construction inspection services to assure compliance with plans and specifications. Require the contractor to provide evidence that all wastewater service crossings of the water main are undamaged. 2. Attend construction meetings as requested by City. 3. Review and make recommendations to City on submittals, pay requests and change orders. 4. Punchlist the project when contractor requests consideration for acceptance. Sign off on completed punehlist. 5. Make recommendation of project acceptance. 6. Prepare and submit an electronic file and hard copy of the Plan of Record (As -Built Plans) for the completed project. Director of Utilities This Supplemental Contract No. 1 is for additional services to the Design Phase of the Greenslopes A/C Waterline Replacement project. The additional services include submitting a revised design to include approximately 400 L.F. of 16" waterline pipe burst to the Construction Plans and Specifications. The revised design is scheduled to be submitted to the City for review in September 2009 with the anticipated project completion, including construction, in July 2010. Funding: Cost: $ 5,974.00 Source of funds: Capital Project Funds (Self Financed Utility) Outside Resources: S.D. Kallman, L.P. Background Information: This is the first supplemental agreement to the original Engineering Services Contract which was executed on February 12, 2009. The replacement of the asbestos -cement (A/C) waterlines benefits the City by systematically 1) reducing additional unaccounted for water losses, 2) reducing the burden and expense for the City water maintenance forces by eliminating breaks and leaking waterlines, and 3) replacing water transmission lines that are at or near the end of their design life with new waterlines. The City has developed a systematic plan for waterline replacement projects, which are designed to restore the City's out -dated infrastructure with new superior pipe materials.
