Item Summary:
City Staff procured engineering design services with KA Hickman in August 2010. The remodeling of the City -owned
facility at 615 East Palm Valley Boulevard will provide for the co -location of multiple City departments at this 35,152
square feet, four building complex. This relocation will allow for City staff to be able to provide better accessibility
and service to the citizens of Round Rock and other external customers at a single location.
On November 9, 2010, City staff accepted bids for demolition services on the facility. Sierra Contracting Corporation
was selected as the lowest bidder and best value for the City and costs for their services were approved on January
7, 2011 in the amount of $47,500.00.
This Quantity Adjustment/Change Order provides for additional demolition services and disposal of unidentified
sheetrock ceilings above suspended ceiling in Building A and Building B. Once the actual demolition was started and
the grid and ceiling tile was removed from the exposed ceiling it was discovered that an original hard sheetrock
ceiling had been covered up in certain areas during previous remodel work. This second layer of ceiling which had
been covered up had not been part of the original contract and removal is being added to the agreement by this
change order. This work is needed to fully expose ceiling rafters so the structural integrity of the building can be
viewed by the design team.

Dear Mr. Hickman:
Sierra Contracting Corporation is pleased to submit for your consideration the following
proposal for the above referenced project. This proposal will be Change Order Request
#1 for the additional demolition and disposal of previously unidentified sheetrock ceilings
above suspended ceilings. Once sheetrock is removed, all nail and/or screws will be
removed from joists.
All work will be performed in accordance with TDSHS, OSHA and all applicable
Federal, State and Local Regulations, as well as the existing "Contract Documents"
