SUPPLEMENTAL CONTRACT NO. 1
TO CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES
FIRM: HUGGINS/SELLER & ASSOCIATES, L.P. ("Engineer")

PROJECT: South Mays Street at Gattis School Road
This Supplemental Contract No. 1 to Contract for Engineering Services is made by and between
the City of Round Rock, Texas, hereinafter called the "City" and Huggins/Seiler & Associates,
L.P., hereinafter called the "Engineer".
WHEREAS, the City and Engineer executed a Contract for Engineering Services, hereinafter
called the "Contract", on the 10th day of September, 2009 for the South Mays Street at Gattis
School Road Project in the amount of $499,167.80; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to amend the Contract to modify the provisions for the
scope of services and to increase the compensation by $32,334.00 to a total of $531,501.80; and
NOW THEREFORE, premises considered, the City and the Engineer agree that said Contract
is amended as follows:
Article 2, Engineering Services and Exhibit B, Engineering Services shall be amended as set
forth in the attached Addendum To Exhibit B. Exhibit C, Work Schedule shall be amended as
set forth in the attached Addendum To Exhibit C.

Article 4, Compensation and Exhibit D, Fee Schedule shall be amended by increasing by
$32,334.00 the lump sum amount payable under the Contract for a total of $531,501.80, as
shown by the attached Addendum to Exhibit D.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the City and the Engineer have executed this Supplemental
Contract in duplicate.

ADDENDUM TO EXHIBIT B
Engineering Services
The changes to the scope of this project are as follows:
This project consists of revising the intersection of South Mays Street and Gattis School Road.
The project includes a traffic study to determine the need for additional turn lanes. The traffic
study will include three day traffic counts at determined locations and will include 1) No build
Option present and design year, 2) Two design options of improvements for present and design
year and 3) Stripping options for left turn lanes eastbound on Hesters Crossing bridge over IH 35
for present and design year. Based on findings from the traffic study, a preliminary schematic
will be revised and resubmitted for City of Round Rock approval. Design surveys, Right of Way
documents for a maximum of 14 parcels of land and full PS&E plans and documents are
required.
The work effort and the management of the projects included in this contract will be conducted
in the Engineer's office in Round Rock, Texas. The Engineer will be readily available and
accessible to the City of Round Rock's staff and will meet with the City's project manager as
necessary. All work is subject to the review and approval of the City of Round Rock.
The Engineer will solicit and secure written permission for entry to accomplish any work beyond
the existing right-of-way line.
The Engineer is fully responsible for any traffic control required for any data collection
activities. The control must be consistent with the City's procedures. The Engineer may not
close a lane of traffic without the written approval of the City.
The Engineer shall provide the following services:
1. Meet with the City to discuss schedule and scope of work
2. Coordinate sub -consultant survey work and preparation of existing conditions base map
and DTM.
3. Coordinate sub -consultant work for survey and preparation of R.O.W. sketches and
documents.
4. Assist in identification and location existing utilities and coordinate utility relocations as
required.
5. Provide complete PS&E package including storm sewer design, traffic control plan and
modifications for the widening/total reconstruction of the existing roadways to the
approved typical section.
6. Prepare signal plans for Mays and Gattis Intersection.
7. Preparation of any necessary standards, specifications and/or detail sheets when not
available from the City.
8. Prepare bidding documents for City Letting process.
9. Provide a draft advertisement for City review and advertise project for letting.
10. Provide 25 copies of construction plans and bidding documents.
11. Assist the City with the letting event documentation and assessment of bids.
12. Provide any plan and/or specification interpretation required during the construction
process.
