Services Contract with Atkins for the 2011 Wastewater Master Plan Update.
Approval Date:
March 23, 2012
Department Name: Utilities and Environmental Services Department
Project Manager: Eddie Zapata
Assigned Attorney:

Item Summary:
The City updates the Wastewater Capital Recovery (Impact) Fee every three years. In order to complete the upcoming 2011
Wastewater Capital Recovery (Impact) Fee Study, an update of the 2008 Wastewater Collection System Master Plan was
necessary. Updating the Wastewater Master Plan allowed us to revise or confirm the schedule and budget of each project in our
current Utility Capital Improvements Program in order to meet the future demands of our wastewater system. The City
contracted with Atkins to update the Wastewater Master Plan which included evaluating current and future wastewater
demands, comparing future demands to system capacities, verifying and updating our current wastewater collection system
computer model, and assisting in determining an appropriate wastewater impact fee.
Supplemental Agreement No. 1 is necessary in order for Atkins to perform additional wastewater modeling services for the City
along Lake Creek (Segments 2 and 3), McNutt Creek Basin near the Round Rock/ Georgetown ETJ boundary, Georgetown -
Southeast Development Zone near Barton Hill/ Westinghouse Road, Old Settlers, and development near Sunrise Road.
