Since that time, the facility has been shut down, and the wastewater flow has been diverted to the BCRWWS - East Wastewater Treatment Plant. This project will repair the damages experienced from the flooding, as well as move equipment that was previously located in the floodplain to a higher elevation. The creation of the Public Utility Easement (PUE) establishes a dedicated route for dry utilities to cross the West Wastewater Treatment Plant property site, without interfering with the infrastructure, while still providing needed service to the plant site. Due to the relocation of equipment and buildings to a higher elevation, overhead electric and telecommunication infrastructure must be installed in a proposed duct bank system within the PUE.
