Q 5 4 0 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9.702, CODE OF ORDINANCES, 1990 EDITION, CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, BY DESIGNATING THE FOLLOWING ALLEY AS ONE WAY: TO -WIT THAT CERTAIN ALLEY (SOUTHBOUND ONLY) WHICH LIES BETWEEN ZEPHYR LANE AND STRATFORD DRIVE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE, AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS: I. That Section 9.702, Code of Ordinances, 1990 Edition, City of Round Rock, Texas, is hereby amended by adding the following: ON FROM TO The Public Alley between Zephyr Lane Stratford Drive Greenlawn Boulevard and Southwestern Trail (Southbound) II. That this amendment shall become effective upon the installation of one way signs by the City of Round Rock, Texas. III. A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in conflict herewith are expressly repealed. B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof. Alternative 1. By motion duly made, seconded and passed with an affirmative vote of all the Council members present, the requirements for reading this ordinance on two separate days was dispensed with. Consider an ordinance amending the Traffic Code by designating a one-way thoroughfare for the alley between Zephyr Lane and Stratford Drive. (Second Reading) STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: Joe Vining STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approval The alley in question lies between Greenlawn Boulevard and Southwestern Trail and extends from Zephyr to Stratford. The purpose served by the one-way designation is to maximize lateral maneuverability for motorists using this narrow alley and also to minimize the risk of a head-on collision.
