PASSION. PROSPERrff Item No. F2. - Consent Consider an ordinance designating the intersection of Commerce Boulevard and Lamar Agenda Caption: Drive as an all -way stop intersection. (Second Reading) Meeting Date: November 20, 2012 Department: Transportation Department Staff Person making presentation: Gary Hudder Transportation Director Item Summary: The configuration of Commerce Boulevard and Lamar Drive, the location, and the traffic volumes at this intersection all contribute to inconsistent visual cues for drivers. This has been observed by Transportation Staff as drivers approaching from the south or north on Lamar fail to obey the posted Stop sign while eastbound and westbound drivers on Commerce — with no Stop sign — stop and yield to the Lamar traffic. An All -Way Stop controlled condition will eliminate this problem by communicating a clear and consistent message to drivers on all four approaches.
