WHEREAS, on December 7, 1912, the inhabitants of the village of Round Rock conducted an
election to determine whether or not to incorporate as the City of Round Rock; and
WHEREAS, at said election, 67 votes were cast in favor of incorporation and 46 votes were
cast against incorporation; and
WHEREAS, on December 12, 1912, Richard Critz, Williamson County Judge signed an Order
declaring the results of the election official and further declaring that the City of Round Rock was
officially an incorporated city of the State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of its 100th birthday, the City of Round Rock began its celebration
on December 12, 2012 and will continue to celebrate throughout the year 2013; and
WHEREAS, the City's official celebration of its Centennial is scheduled for Saturday, April
27, 2013; and
WHEREAS, as part of the Centennial Celebration, the City will officially open and dedicate its
newly completed public plaza, located behind the McConico Building and Allen R. Baca Center; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting to name the new plaza in honor of Round Rock's Centennial
Celebration, Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That the municipal office complex (MOC) plaza located behind the McConico and Allen R
Baca Center shall hereafter be named the Centennial Plaza.
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and
subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was
open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter
hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act,
Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended.

be named. Staff proposes that the plaza be named the Centennial Plaza. The Centennial
