WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has previously entered into a
Contract for Engineering Services ("Contract") with Kasberg, Patrick &
Associates, Inc. for the Bowman Road Drainage Improvements Project, and
WHEREAS, Kasberg, Patrick & Associates, Inc. has submitted
Supplemental Contract No. 1 to the Contract for Engineering Services
for a: change in the scope of services, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to enter into said Supplemental
Contract No. 1 with Kasberg, Patrick & Associates, Inc., Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on
behalf of the City Supplemental Contract No. 1 to the Contract for
Engineering Services with Kasberg, Patrick & Associates, Inc., a copy
of same being attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein.
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of
the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this
Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the
public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and
the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted
upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas
Government Code, as amended.

This Supplemental Contract No. 1 to Contract for Engineering Services is made by and between
the City of Round Rock, Texas, hereinafter called the "City" and Kasberg, Patrick & Associates,
L.L.P., hereinafter called the "Engineer".
WHEREAS, the City and Engineer executed a Contract for Engineering Services, hereinafter
called the "Contract", on the 12th day of May, 2005 for Bowman Road Drainage Improvements
in the amount of $57,175.00; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to amend the Contract to modify the provisions for the
scope of services and to increase the compensation by $82,300.00 to a total of $139,475.00; and
NOW THEREFORE, premises considered, the City and the Engineer agree that said Contract
is amended as follows:
I.
Article 2, Engineering Services and Exhibit B, Engineering Services shall be amended as set
forth in the attached Addendum To Exhibit B.
II.
Article 4, Compensation and Exhibit D, Fee Schedule shall be amended by increasing by
$82,300.00 the lump sum amount payable under the Contract for a total of $139,475.00, as
shown by the attached Addendum to Exhibit D.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the City and the Engineer have executed this Supplemental
Contract in duplicate.

ADDENDUM TO EXHIBIT B
Engineering Services
The changes to the scope of this project are as follows:
1. Prepare submittals for the water, wastewater and storm water permits in relationship to the
Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone requirements and submit the permits to the Texas Commission
on Environmental Quality for approval.
2. Surveying — provide detailed easement notes in order to obtain drainage easement across Texas
Baptist Children's Home Property.
3. Surveying — obtain topographic survey of existing drainage facilities between Egger Avenue and
Willowbend Drive.
4. Develop stormwater model of watershed contributing to drainage facilities between Egger Avenue
and Willowbend Drive.
5. Develop preliminary drainage recommendations for area between Egger Avenue and Willowbend
Drive.
6. Develop final drainage improvements for area between Egger Avenue and Willowbend Drive.
7. Determine fmal horizontal and vertical alignment for the storm sewer lines as well as curb inlets,
flumes, channels and culverts based on final storm water conveyances. This will include detailing
connections to existing storm sewers. This will also include the design of relocating fencing
between Egger Avenue and Greenhill Drive as necessary.
8. Provide telephone, cable, fiber optic and gas utility entities with construction plans showing
horizontal and vertical alignment in order that they will be able to relocate the existing utilities
outside the limits of construction.
9. Develop final opinions of probable costs for Bowman Road Drainage Improvements.
10. Prepare Contract Documents that will include Technical Specifications regarding material quality
and craftsmanship, all pertinent contract documents, and the Bid Form.
11. Meet with the City of Round Rock Staff to review the Final Design Engineering Plans and
Contract Documents and Technical Specifications Book and receive input on the Plans and Project
Phases. Meetings shall be phased with the City of Round Rock.
12. Incorporate changes or revisions as a result of review comments made by the City of Round Rock
Staff.
13 Deliver three (3) copies of the Final Design Engineering Plans and Contract Documents and
Technical Specifications Book to the City of Round Rock.

Fee Schedule
The changes to the fee schedule for this project are as follows:

Justification:
This supplemental contract is to provide final engineering for drainage improvements in the
Bowman Road drainage basin. The objective of the final engineering phase is to complete the
design and prepare construction documents for the options that were proposed and accepted
during the preliminary engineering phase.
The deliverables for this phase of the project will be final construction documents including
engineering plans, contract documents and technical specifications for the Bowman Road
Drainage Improvements Project.
Funding:
Cost: $82,300.00
Source of funds:
Capital Project Funds (2001 G.O. Bond -2nd Issuance)
Outside Resources: Kasberg, Patrick, & Associates
Background Information:
This project will provide more efficient drainage, improve the appearance and appeal of the area,
and eliminate maintenance concerns to the City.
